Snowflakes! Snowflakes! Snowflakes!

Just because we don’t get any snow in Sonoma County doesn’t mean we can’t have snowflakes! These snowflakes are fun and easy to make with your kids on rainy days.
What you will need:

Round white coffee filters
Glue & glitter
Watercolor paint

Fold a coffee filter in half and then in half again. This is enough for smaller kids, but you can fold a time or two more for your snowflakes or for older kids for a more detailed pattern.
Using your scissors, cut out smalltriangles and other shapes along all of the edges of your folded coffee filter. Be careful not to cut through to the other side or your snowflake will be cut in half.
Carefully unfoldto avoid ripping! Voila, you have a snowflake!
To decorate, paint with watercolor paints. Using more water makesthe colors bleed into each other like a tye dye effect. However, be careful not to use too much water or the snowflakes will rip. You can also use the glue and glitter to decorate.

Hang your snowflakes in the window or on your Christmas tree if you make these during the holidays. Have fun!
