There are so many swimming pools here in our area, why drive up to Geyserville? The Francis Ford Coppola pool is not just any pool, its a little retreat from home!

Apparently Francis Ford Coppola wanted to create a very family friendly place and provide something different that the whole family can enjoy together. Presto! A winery, a movie gallery, a restaurant, and a beautiful pool all nestled in the valley of Geyserville.

Nestled in the hills of Alexander Valley, Francis Ford Coppola Winery offers award-winning wines, fine dining, family-friendly pool, bocce courts, special events, weekly live music, and a movie gallery with memorabilia from Coppola's movies.

To use the pool you must reserve your space in advance and they provide a few different options. You can purchase individual pool passes, or you can purchase the use of a cabine, which is your own private, enclosed changing area and warm shower. This option comes with 4 lounge chairs, towels, water, water bottles, and free wine tasting. You can also upgrade to add more options. Be warned, the prices are not cheap, however, this is not a city pool!

Once you are settled into the pool area, there are many helpful staff members who come around and check on you and your family. You can order food and drinks from them and they will bring everything you need out to you. You have a running tab so you only need to pay once at the end of the day. Very convenient!

You can go in and out of the winery at your leisure, and your pool package comes with some wine tasting opportunities. They make several different varietals; we quite enjoyed all of them.

If you haven't been to the winery itself, it is a beautiful building outside and inside. It is decorated with props, costumes, and pictures of some of Francis Ford Coppola's movies (such as The Godfather and Dracula).

The restaurant there is called Rustic, and features some of Francis's favorite dishes, with an Italian emphasis. We only ordered from the bar menu; we can say that the BLT, the caprese salad, and the cheese pizzas were delicious and very reasonably priced.

The pool always has 2 lifeguards on patrol, and the deep side is completely separated from the larger, shallower pool by a fountain so its easy to track where your littles are swimming. The shallow pool is large and roomy, plenty of space for a game of Marco Polo! Be warned that they do not allow swim toys or any inflatables, however, they have some foam floatie options for purchase at the front desk.

We were there during the week and it was very quiet. There were never more than 10 people in the pool at once (including little ones). Every staff member that I interacted with that day was polite, warm, and helpful.

The Francis Ford Coppola Winery and Pool is a wonderful family retreat. We spent the whole day there and it was a little well-deserved pampering for all of us. A fun day in the sun, good food, good wine, and a nice warm private shower at the end. We will be back again very soon!

The pool is open daily through September and on weekends in the Fall. Francis Ford Coppola also hosts several special family-friendly events throughout the year such as their popular Easter Egg Hunt and the Halloween Festival.
