This program is geared towards children in grades 1-6. Kids will read any 8 books and record each of them in a journal (download journal HERE). Bring the completed journal into any Barnes and Noble store for a FREE book! Visit their WEBSITE for more info.
Starts June 6!
Kids are basically "Detectives," whenever they read a book: trying to determine what happens in the book (regardless of whether or not it's a mystery). With that in mind, kids can sign up for a License to Read, and are issued a Detective License, complete with picture (dark glasses and a variety of hats are worn, so they'll be 'incognito'). Kids choose an alias for their last name (or their whole name) - licenses are then posted in the store with pics attached. Each time a reader finishes a book ("closes a case"), their license is updated. They'll also receive a case file to track the books they've read as they work toward receiving their Detective Badge in August.
There will be a big party at the end of summer in each Copperfield's location.
Sign up ONLINE or at any Copperfield's Books.
